Hydration, enforced

Your screen time
is thirsty.

drnk locks the apps that drain you, then hands the key to a glass of water. Drink on camera, earn minutes, and watch your streak (and your hydration) climb.

The exchange

Water in, minutes out.

1secdrinking water,
verified on camera
3minof screen time,
added to one shared pool

Morning sips earn double before 10am. The pool caps at two hours, so there's no hoarding.

The loop

Four steps. One habit.

drnk turns doomscrolling into a hydration habit with a loop simple enough to explain in one breath.

01

Drink

Raise your glass. The front camera counts your verified drinking seconds, with no timers to fake and no honor system.

02

Earn

Every counted second banks screen time. Sip before 10am and the morning bonus doubles it.

03

Spend

Your guarded apps all draw from one shared pool. Open them freely; the meter runs while you scroll.

04

Run dry

Pool hits zero, apps lock. Not forever, just until the next glass of water. That's the deal.

The screens

Poured with care.

Warm paper, still water, and a raymarched vessel that actually sloshes. Swipe through the whole app.

Under the hood

Strict where it counts.

Real sips only

A cloud model judges the whole motion: raise, sip, lower. Holding a prop to your face earns nothing.

Locks that hold

Built on Apple's Screen Time framework. When the pool is dry, guarded apps shield themselves at the system level, not with a nag.

Fail-closed fairness

Nothing is credited without a verdict. Cooldowns, daily ceilings, and server-side rate limits keep the economy honest.

Streaks with mercy

Daily goals build a streak; the Reservoir banks freezes for the day you genuinely can't. Records live in Journey.

Morning double

The hardest glass is the first one. Before 10am, every second earns twice the screen time.

Emergency passes

Life happens. A limited stash of passes unlocks everything for a moment. Spend them wisely; they don't grow back fast.

Privacy

Your camera, not our cloud.

drnk watches you drink, not your life. A handful of low-resolution frames are checked to confirm a real sip, then they're gone. Read the full Privacy Policy.

  • No video or audio is ever recorded or uploaded. Only a few still frames, sent solely for a verdict.
  • Frames are discarded immediately after verification. Never stored, never used to train models.
  • We never learn which apps you locked. Apple hands us opaque tokens, so we only ever know how many.
  • No ads, no data brokers, no data sales. Skip sign-in and nothing leaves your device at all.

FAQ

Fair questions.

Can I cheat it with an empty cup?

You can try. The verifier judges the full sequence of a sip (raise, drink, lower), not a single frame, and props like phones or bottles held still don't count. What's actually in the cup is between you and your conscience.

Does drnk record video of me?

No. While you record a drink, drnk captures a few low-resolution still frames, sends them for verification, and discards them immediately. No video, no audio, no continuous stream, and nothing at all when you're not recording.

How do the app locks actually work?

drnk uses Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) framework, the same system parental controls use. You choose which apps to guard; when your pool runs dry, iOS itself shields them until you drink again.

What if I genuinely need an app while locked?

Emergency passes unlock everything for a short window, and drinking a glass of water works instantly. The point is friction, not punishment.

Is drnk a medical app?

No. drnk is a habit tool, not a medical device, and isn't clinically validated. If you have a health condition related to fluid intake, follow your doctor's guidance, not an app's.
